Older Products
This page contains an overview of 16 and 32-bit microcontrollers and microprocessors that are no longer offered in the marketplace.
New and existing customers are encouraged to migrate to Am186™Cx Family, Am186™/Am188™ ER, or Élan™ SC520.
Technical Documentation is still available to support existing customers.
Older 16-bit Microcontrollers
- Am186™ED Series
Integrates a complete DRAM controller with the popular Am186ES microcontroller peripheral set. The Am186ED can reduce system memory costs by as much as 85% without sacrificing performance by taking advantage of the substantial savings of DRAM over SRAM.
- Am186™ES Series
Combine the familiarity of the 80C186/188 microcontroller architecture, but with higher performance and more features than the Am186EM and Am188EM microcontrollers.
- Am186™EM Series
A natural migration path for 80C186/188 designs that need performance and cost enhancements. By integrating multiple functional blocks with the CPU, the Am186EM and Am188EM microcontrollers eliminate the need for off-chip system-interface logic.
- 80C186 Series
An ideal entry point for the E86™ family and embedded processing. With a reputation in the Industry for flexibility and ease of programming, these microcontrollers offer higher performance than 8-bit processors, and feature low power consumption and smaller packaging. Older 32-bit Microcontrollers and Microprocessors
- Élan™SC410
The second generation of PC/AT solutions from AMD targeted specifically for embedded systems. The ÉlanSC410 microcontroller is a lower cost version of the ÉlanSC400 controller, integrating all ÉlanSC400 controller features except PCMCIA and graphics capability.
- Élan™SC400
Extends the feature set of the Élan™SC300 microcontroller and brings very high performance to mobile computing. The core features of the ÉlanSC400 combines an Am486 CPU with an integrated memory controller, PC/AT and LCD graphics controllers, and essential mobile computing peripherals.
- Élan™SC310
A low-cost derivative of the ÉlanSC300 microcontroller without PCMCIA and graphics capability. This device is the answer to many designs that require a low-cost PC/AT solution.
- Élan™SC300
For handheld computing is a highly integrated, low-voltage, single-chip implementation of a high-performance, 32-bit, x86-compatible microprocessor, plus it has the extra logic needed for PC/AT-compatible PCs. It is ideal for handheld and other battery-powered computers.
- AMD-K6™-IIIE+
A functionally compatible embedded version of the AMD-K6-III+ processor. The cache design provides a large 64-Kbyte L1 cache and a 256-Kbyte L2 cache operating at full processor speed on a backside bus.
- AMD-K6™-2E
A functionally compatible embedded version of the AMD-K6-2+ processor with an internal 128-Kbyte L2 cache.
- AMD-K6™-2E
A functionally compatible embedded version of AMD's sixth generation, Microsoft® Windows® software-compatible AMD-K6-2 processor with AMD's innovative 3DNow!™ technology, superscaler MMX™ instruction execution support, and the Super7™ 100-MHz Front-side bus.
- Am486/Am386
Are embedded versions of the enhanced Am486 microprocessor. The Am386 series are high-performance, low-cost 32-bit microprocessors provide embedded customers access to inexpensive processors and the highest performance of any 386DX/386SX.
