What is RSS?
RSS
stands for Really Simple Syndication and has quickly been adopted
as a standard format for dynamically syndicating content to any
user or Web site.
What is an RSS feed?
An RSS feed is an XML-based file which contains content items
that link back to a particular Web site. By subscribing to a
feed, you are automatically notified when new content is available.
Typically, headlines are delivered to a news reader with links to
the Web page for the full story.
Getting a news reader
Before subscribing to an RSS feed, you will first need a news reader* or aggregator - an application that enables you to view RSS content.
You can try RSS readers listed on CNET, Google, and many other websites. If you're a Mac user, consider NetNewsWire or the news reader built into Safari. If you use Mozilla Firefox, try Flock, Sage, or Wizz.
